BMW Motorrad has recently launched the newest BMW R12 and R12 nineT roadster models in India, priced at Rs 19.90 lakh and Rs 20.90 lakh (ex-showroom) each., in India. These bikes will come as Completely Built-up Units (CBU), and you can expect deliveries to start from September 2024.
BMW R12 and R12 nineT Engine, Features
The new R12 models come with an air/oil-cooled boxer engine, delivering strong and distinctive performance. The engine has a 101 mm bore, 73 mm stroke, and a 1,170 cc capacity, providing 80 kW (109 hp) at 7,000 rpm in the R12 nineT, with a peak torque of 115 Nm at 6,500 rpm. In the R 12, you can enjoy 70 kW (95 hp) at 6,500 rpm and 110 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.
The BMW R12 nineT and the R12 have different ride modes. The nineT offers Rain, Road, and Dynamic modes, while the R12 has Roll and Rock modes. Both bikes share a tubular bridge design that BMW claims eliminates the need for extra fastening, reducing weight. The rear frame connects to the mainframe using bolts. The bikes feature 310mm discs on the front and a single 265mm rotor for braking.
When it comes to the electronics of the R12 nineT, it’s got some cool features. You’ve got cornering ABS, traction control, engine drag torque control, a keyless ride system, three riding modes, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. And if you decide to go for the optional Comfort Package, you’ll enjoy Hill Start Control Pro, Shift Assistant Pro, heated grips, and cruise control on your bike.
The brand-new BMW R12 nineT comes in different colors. You can choose from Base in Blackstorm metallic, Optional Style–Option 719 “Aluminium” in brushed aluminium / Night Black solid paint, and Optional Color San Remo Green metallic. The all-new BMW R12 has options like Base in Blackstorm metallic, Optional Style – Option 719 in Avus Silver metallic, and optional Color Aventurine Red metallic.
