Kia Carens Clavis Makes Its India Debut with Advanced Safety Features – Pre-Bookings Start at Rs 25,000
The automobile industry has just witnessed the unveiling of the Kia Carens Clavis, an upgraded and more premium version of the existing Carens MPV. Bookings for this sophisticated model open at 12:01 AM on May 9, with prices expected to be announced by the end of May.
Kia has positioned the Clavis as a luxurious evolution of the Carens, featuring a revamped design, advanced technology, and enhanced safety features. The Clavis embraces Kia’s latest design philosophy, adding a fresh and modern appeal to the MPV segment.

Kia Carens Clavis: Exterior Design
Borrowing styling cues from Kia’s flagship EV9, the Carens Clavis flaunts the ‘digital tiger face’, bringing a futuristic vibe to its front fascia. The thin LED DRLs seamlessly connect to a triangular housing for the LED headlights, giving it a sharper, bolder look. Kia offers the Clavis in eight striking colors, including Ivory Silver Gloss, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Gray, Sparkling Silver, Aurora Black Pearl, and Clear White.
The front and rear bumpers feature a more angular design, complemented by silver bash plates that add to the rugged charm. Despite maintaining the silhouette of the Carens, the Clavis sports newly designed dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels. The rear end also receives subtle enhancements, including a thicker central LED light band, reinforcing the MPV’s premium positioning.

Kia Carens Clavis: Modern Cabin with Tech-Forward Features
Inside, the most noticeable upgrade is the 22.62-inch dual-screen setup, which consists of a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Clavis also adopts new AC vent designs and improved auto AC controls, A flat-bottom steering wheel, borrowed from Kia’s Syros, further elevates the modern appeal.
The Carens Clavis maintains both 6-seat and 7-seat configurations, similar to its predecessor, but introduces lighter-colored seat upholstery and door trims for a refreshed look. The top-spec HTX+ trim of the Carens Clavis boasts a 4-way powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and an immersive 8-speaker Bose audio system.

Among the standout features is a panoramic sunroof, offering an open and airy feel to the cabin. In terms of safety, the Clavis comes with a 360-degree camera and a Level 2 ADAS suite, which includes adaptive cruise control, front collision assist, and lane keep assist.

Kia Carens Clavis: Powertrain Options
The Kia Carens Clavis offers you a variety of engine choices. You can pick from six different options. For instance, there’s an exclusive 160hp, 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Or you could go for the 115hp, 1.5-liter petrol engine with a 6-speed manual.
If you prefer a turbo-petrol engine, there’s also a 160hp, 1.5-liter option that comes with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed dual-clutch auto transmission. Lastly, there’s a 116hp, 1.5-liter diesel engine available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Pricing details are yet to be revealed, but the Clavis is expected to cost a slight premium over the current Carens (Rs 10.60 lakh – Rs 19.70 lakh). With a refreshed design, cutting-edge technology, and advanced safety features, the Kia Carens Clavis emerges as a premium MPV that elevates practicality with sophistication.
