The Hypermotard 950 SP comes with top-notch Ohlins suspension, light Marchesini forged wheels, and a robust 937cc L-twin engine that pumps out 114hp and 96Nm of torque.
Ducati India is on a roll with new releases in India, and the latest high-end model Hypermotard 950 SP is out now, with prices beginning at Rs 19.05 lakh (ex-showroom). It outshines the Hypermotard RVE in terms of features and costs Rs 3 lakh more. This marks its spot as the third bike from the Hypermotard series available in India, alongside the Hypermotard Mono 698.
Hypermotard 950 SP Features
The Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP is the premium model in the series, packed with the latest features. It comes equipped with top-notch components, with the most notable upgrade being the switch to Ohlins suspension for both the front and rear. These adjustable units not only offer superior quality but also outperform the standard Marsocchi/Sachs setup in terms of technical specifications.
The Ohlins USD fork got an upgrade to a larger 48mm size from the previous 45mm one. Not only that, but the wheel travel has been boosted to 185mm from 170mm. The Ohlins monoshock also stepped up its game with an increase in wheel travel, jumping from 150mm to 175mm.
One of the improvements worth mentioning is the addition of lighter Marchesini forged wheels. This change helps reduce the weight by 2kg. However, even with this modification, the Hypermotard SP still weighs over 200kg when it’s completely fueled, taking into account the 14.5-liter tank capacity. Moreover, the seat height has been raised to 890mm, which is 20mm higher than the Hypermotard RVE, because of the extended suspension travel.
Hypermotard 950 SP Engine
The SP model of the Ducati doesn’t come with changes to its structure or brakes. However, it features top-notch Pirelli Supercorsa SP tires, an upgrade from the Pirelli Rosso 3s on the Hypermotard RVE. The 937cc liquid-cooled L-twin engine is unchanged, providing 114hp and 96Nm of torque. What makes it unique is the intense tuning and the most aggressive exhaust noise in Ducati’s Hypermotard range.
