Kawasaki KLX 230 Gets a 233cc Engine and 6-Speed Gearbox

Kawasaki India has launched the new KLX 230, a dual-purpose motorcycle, priced at Rs 3.30 lakh in the Ex showroom. This marks Kawasaki’s entry into the dual-sport motorcycle market in India. The KLX 230 has been highly awaited by fans, having been seen in testing several times before its release.

Kawasaki KLX 230 Design and Hardware

The KLX 230 has a tall and slim design that reflects its dual-purpose nature. It features long-travel suspension, wire-spoke wheels, and a single-piece seat. To comply with road regulations, it includes an LED headlight, turn signals, rear-view mirrors, a saree guard, and tyres suitable for both on and off-road use. Buyers can select from two eye-catching colors: Lime Green and Battle Grey.

The Kawasaki KLX 230 features a strong steel frame that enhances its durability. It has impressive suspension with a 37mm telescopic fork in the front and a Uni-Trak-linked 250mm mono-shock in the rear. The bike is equipped with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, along with versatile tyres suitable for multiple terrains.

Both ends are fitted with disc brakes, along with dual-channel ABS for better stopping power. The motorcycle has a ground clearance of 265mm and a seat height of 880mm. Weighing only 139 kg, it is easy to handle. Additionally, the fuel tank holds up to 7.6 liters.

Kawasaki KLX 230 Features and Engine Performance

The Kawasaki KLX 230 serves a distinct purpose and comes with important features. It has a straightforward LCD display with Bluetooth capability, which shows vital information such as the odometer, trip meter, speedometer, fuel gauge, and digital clock.

At its core, the KLX 230 runs on a 233cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This powertrain generates 19.73 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 20.3 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine is matched with a 6-speed gearbox, providing a smooth and engaging riding experience.
