Mercedes-Benz India to Implement 3% Price Hike Across All Models Starting January 1

The recent price increase by Mercedes-Benz in India won’t affect cars manufactured before December 31.

Mercedes-Benz India recently revealed that it will be raising prices on all its vehicles for the upcoming year, making it the first car brand to do so for 2025. The company shared that starting from January 1, 2025, the ex-showroom prices of all its models will go up by three percent. This move is due to increased input expenses, inflation, and higher operational costs, which were also the factors behind a similar price adjustment last year. Just like every year, it’s common for other car companies to do the same in the next few months by raising prices on their range of vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz mentioned that the price adjustment will also affect items that are presently unavailable. In India, Mercedes-Benz offers a wide variety of products. These include luxurious cars like the top-of-the-line S-Class sedan and the E-Class LWB, SUVs such as the GLS, GLC, and GLE, electric models like the EQS and EQE, a selection of coupes and convertibles, and one hatchback, the A-Class. The manufacturer announced that prices for the GLC will go up by Rs 2 lakh, while the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 luxury limousine will see a hefty Rs 9 lakh increase.

Santosh Iyer, who is in charge of Mercedes-Benz India as the Managing Director and CEO, mentioned, “Over the past three quarters, we have been facing increased pressure on our cost structure primarily driven by escalating material cost, fluctuating commodity pricing, increased logistics expenses, and inflationary cost. While we have been absorbing these cost pressures by optimizing our operational costs and driving higher efficiencies, the overall bottom line is getting impacted, considering the current challenges. Flexible financing options from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services will ensure optimal total cost of ownership for our customers.”
