Mercedes-Benz India Recalled 386 Maybach S-Class Units Over Potential ECU Defect
Mercedes-Benz India has announced a voluntary recall of 386 Maybach S-Class vehicles. These vehicles, produced between April 29, 2021, and January 27, 2024, may have an ECU software issue that doesn’t align with current standards.
Mercedes-Benz has informed SIAM that the car’s Electronic Control Unit (ECU) software may not comply with current standards. This outdated software could potentially cause elevated exhaust temperatures, potentially damaging vital components like the engine wiring harness and catalytic converter. Moreover, it could lead to unexpected loss of power and, in worst-case scenarios, increase the risk of fire.
