Specifically, two-wheelers saw a 14% growth, with sales rising from 4,20,610 units in October 2023 to 4,78,159 units in October 2024. Sales of motorcycles and scooters in India went up by 13% in the past year. From October 2023 to October 2024, the number of units sold increased from 344,957 to 390,489.

Two-Wheeler Sales in India
In the past year, there has been a 14% increase in the number of motorcycles and scooters on the streets. In October 2023, 420,610 units were sold, but in October 2024, the number jumped to 478,159 units. The domestic two-wheeler sector saw a notable 13% increase, rising from 344,957 units in October 2023 to 390,489 units in October 2024. So, it’s clear that more and more people are opting for two-wheelers these days.
In October 2024, the number of motorcycles sold rose by 14% compared to October 2023, reaching 230,822 units. Sales of scooters also went up, rising by 17% from 165,135 units in October 2023 to 193,439 units in October 2024. Sales of electric vehicles (EVs) saw a 45% increase, rising from 20,153 units in October 2023 to 29,308 units in October 2024.

Moreover, the Indian automaker experienced a 9% growth in total exports, with sales rising from 87,952 units in October 2023 to 95,708 units in October 2024. Specifically, two-wheeler exports surged by 16%, with sales climbing from 75,653 units in October 2023 to 87,670 units in October 2024. On the other hand, three-wheeler exports accounted for 10,856 units in October 2024, compared to 14,104 units in the corresponding period last year.
TVS Motor saw a 45% increase in sales of electric vehicles thanks to festive discounts on the TVS iQube. They also hit a big achievement with over 1 million sales of the TVS Raider iGo variant.
