Additionally, there are air conditioning vents for rear passengers on the roof and behind the front center armrest.

Citroen Basalt Exterior

One of the standout elements of the Citroen Basalt is its exterior look, boasting a sleek roofline that slopes sharply like a coupe. The front design resembles the C3 Aircross, with familiar features such as the chrome Chevron emblem, split grille, and silver skid plate. The body cladding has a matte plastic finish. In contrast to the C3 Aircross with halogen headlamps, the Basalt sports projector LED lights, maintain its unique LED daytime running lights.

Apart from its sleek coupe silhouette, the Citroen Basalt stands out with its eye-catching 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels on the sides. At the back, you’ll find a robust dual-tone bumper and stylish wraparound LED taillights that create a cool 3D effect. The overall design closely resembles the images revealed a few months back, but now it includes black plastic cladding on the wheel arches and door sills.

The Basalt will be available in five single-color choices – Polar White, Steel Grey, Platinum Grey, Cosmo Blue, and Garnet Red. If you opt for white or red, you’ll also get a sleek black roof for a stylish touch.

Citroen Basalt Powertrain

Citroen offers the Basalt with two petrol engine choices: a 1.2-liter standard engine and a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine. The standard one gives you 81 horsepower and 115 Nm of torque, connected only to a 5-speed manual transmission. Whereas, the turbocharged one produces 109 horsepower and 190 Nm (205 Nm with automatic transmission) of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Citroen states that the NA variant achieves 18 kilometers per liter, the turbo-petrol manual gets 19.5 kmpl, and the turbo-petrol automatic delivers 18.7 kmpl.

The upcoming Citroen Basalt is set to hit the market soon. It will come at a competitive price point and offer fewer features compared to the Tata Curvv. Serving as Citroen’s new budget flagship, it will be vying against popular models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, and Honda Elevate.
