The Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 is equipped with a 122kWh battery pack
Mercedes-Benz has taken a new step in the electric vehicle revolution in the Indian market. The company recently unveiled its latest electric SUV, the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580, which is a blend of luxury and technology. Priced at around Rs. 1.41 crore(ex-showroom), this vehicle is expected to attract Indian customers. The introduction of the EQS adds significant value to Mercedes-Benz’s electric vehicle lineup.
Mercedes-Benz EQS: Exterior
The new Mercedes-Benz EQS has a sleek exterior design that catches the eye. It features a bold black grille that spans down to the bumper, giving it a fresh and stylish appearance. The LED headlamps, paired with LED lights, further enhance the front profile by creating a horizontal bar effect. Additionally, this model offers exciting new features like 21-inch AMG alloy wheels and soft doors.

The new model looks more streamlined and contemporary, ditching the extra chrome details seen on the Maybach version. The back bumper has been revamped to mirror the Maybach EQS SUV’s style, sporting full-width LED tail-lights with subtle chrome touches, adding a chic and up-to-date appearance to the car. In size, the EQS SUV is a bit smaller than the Mercedes GLS, measuring 82mm shorter in length, 3mm narrower, and 105mm lower in height.
Mercedes-Benz EQS: Interior and Features
When you step inside the Mercedes-Benz EQS, you’ll find familiar features like the MBUX hyperscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and an entertainment system controlled by a 17.7-inch touchscreen. Additionally, there’s a separate 12.3-inch display for the front passengers. The car also boasts puddle lamps, illuminated running boards, and a premium 15-speaker Burmester 3D surround sound system. The SUV also offers ventilated front seats, 5-zone climate control, electrically adjustable second-row seats, and dual 11.6-inch rear entertainment displays.

This luxury SUV comes with air suspension and rear axle steering that has continuously adjustable damping. Safety is a key focus in this vehicle, with various safety features like the latest ADAS Level 2 technology and nine airbags. The SUV offers three rows of seats, and you can choose to have captain seats for the last row.
Mercedes-Benz EQS: Powertrain, Features and Range
The SUV is powered by a 122kWh battery pack with a dual-motor setup that produces 536bhp and 858Nm of peak torque. The EQS can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 210 km / h. The SUV also features all-wheel drive.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS is tailored for Indian roads, providing an impressive range of 809 km on one charge. With a 200kW DC fast charger, you can charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in only 31 minutes. If you use a standard 7.4 kW AC charger, it will take approximately 18.5 hours to completely charge the battery.
