Porsche recently introduced the 911 Turbo 50 Years Edition in India after its global launch in August. Priced at Rs 4.05 crore (ex-showroom), the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years Edition commemorates the 50th anniversary of the inaugural Porsche 911 Turbo from 1974. With only 1,974 units of this exclusive edition set to be manufactured worldwide, the production number mirrors the pivotal year when the original 911 Turbo hit the roads.
The 50 Years model is priced at about Rs 70 lakh higher than the Turbo S available in India. It costs over Rs 2 crore more than the 911 Carrera and about Rs 1.26 crore more than the Carrera 4 GTS, which comes with the new turbocharged hybrid engine. It’s important to know that the 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 GTS models in India are from the latest 992.2 generation, while the 50 Years model and Turbo S belong to the previous 992.1 generation.

Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years Edition: Design, Interiors
The Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years edition is built upon the 911 Turbo S model, incorporating design elements that honor the original version. Its exterior is adorned with unique Turbonite accents, showcasing its historical importance, and special badging that commemorates the brand’s legacy. The Anthracite Grey highlights and retro vinyl graphics on the side panels bring back the style of the 911 RSR Turbo concept. If you opt for the Heritage Design Package, you can get a distinct Aventurine Green Metallic paint and classic Porsche logos on the rear, elegantly finished in gold.

When you step inside the cabin, you’ll notice the special edition model features a timeless Mackenzie tartan pattern on the seats and doors, a unique “Turbo 50” lit logo on the door sills and passenger side panel, GT sports steering wheel, The exterior color seamlessly flows into the interior accents. The Heritage Design Package includes green-finished dials on the instrument cluster and the Sport Chrono clock to add a touch of heritage charm.

Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years Edition: Engine
The 911 Turbo 50 Years Edition is a special version of the Turbo S, which is famous for its impressive performance. It comes with a powerful 3.7-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine that delivers 641 horsepower and 800Nm of torque. With these specs, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.7 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 330km/h. This is a significant upgrade from the original 930 Turbo in 1974, showing how far the car has progressed.
