Hero MotoCorp Discontinues Xpulse 200T and Xtreme 200 4V Due to Low Sales in India

Highlights
  • Hero MotoCorp discontinues XPulse 200T and Xtreme 200S 4V.
  • Low sales led to the discontinuation.
  • The new XPulse 210 will replace the discontinued models.

Hero MotoCorp has recently decided to discontinue the XPulse 200T and Xtreme 200S 4V motorcycles. This move is evident from their removal from the company’s official website. While an official statement from Hero MotoCorp is still awaited, the discontinuation is likely due to poor sales performance.

Both the XPulse 200T and Xtreme 200S were built on the same platform as the popular XPulse off-roader. However, unlike its off-road sibling, these two models failed to capture the same level of consumer interest and struggled to achieve significant sales figures.

The Hero XPulse 200T was a more road-oriented motorcycle, designed for comfortable street riding. It featured 17-inch alloy wheels, a suspension setup optimized for smoother roads, and a relaxed riding position. The Xtreme 200S, on the other hand, was a sporty commuter bike equipped with a full fairing and ergonomic seating.

Both motorcycles shared the same 199.6 cc single-cylinder, air, and oil-cooled engine, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The XPulse 200T was priced at Rs 1.40 lakh, Conversely, the Xtreme 200S, a half-faired motorcycle, underwent its most recent update in July 2023. When it was available, the Xtreme 200S carried a price tag of Rs 1.41 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hero MotoCorp unveiled the new XPulse 210 at the EICMA motorcycle show earlier this year. This upcoming model is poised to replace the current XPulse 200, offering enhanced power, performance, and a host of upgrades in terms of design, features, and equipment. To streamline its product lineup and pave the way for the new-generation XPulse, Hero plans to discontinue the existing 200cc models before the 210’s official launch.
