2025 Land Rover Defender Launched: Powerful V8 Engine and Enhanced Features Unveiled

India’s automotive scene has recently been stirred by the arrival of the new Defender SUV, now boasting a robust V8 engine. Land Rover has unveiled this deluxe SUV with numerous significant enhancements, positioning it as a strong player in the luxury vehicle category. The fresh V8-driven Defender 90 will come with a price tag of Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom), with the prices for other versions of the SUV yet to be confirmed.

Land Rover Defender Design Enhancements and Feature Updates

The Defender remains identical to the outgoing model on the visual front. The exterior design of the Defender has also received some notable updates. These include matrix LED headlights with DRLs, a black contrast roof, and 20-inch all-terrain Satin Dark Grey alloy wheels. The SUV also features a soft-close tail door, adding to its premium feel.

The 2025 Defender SUV has got some cool new stuff. Inside, it’s all spruced up with fancy Windsor leather seats. You’ll love the 14-way power adjustment for the front seats – they heat up and cool down, plus they remember your comfort settings. And check this out – the second-row seats have climate control too.

The SUV comes with some cool features like an 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen system, a 3D surround camera, a panoramic sunroof that slides, a Meridian sound system, and even a fridge in the front console. In the upcoming MY25 Defender, you can opt for captain chairs in the second row for a more luxurious ride.

Land Rover Defender Power and Performance

The highlight of the new Defender SUV is its 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine, which delivers an impressive 425 bhp of power and 610 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available across all three variants of the Defender – the 90, 110, and 130.

In addition to the V8 engine, the Defender lineup also includes a 2.0-litre and a 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The top-end variant, known as the Octa, is powered by a 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine, offering a staggering 626 bhp of power and 750 Nm of peak torque.

The new Defender SUV comes with Terrain Response and Configurable Terrain Response features. They help you tailor settings to handle tough roads. Plus, it has Electronic Air Suspension and Adaptive Dynamics for a smoother ride.
