BMW iX1 LWB: 66.4kWh Battery Offers an Impressive 531km MIDC Range

The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 witnessed a significant launch by BMW, introducing the BMW iX1 Long-Wheelbase (iX1 L) to the Indian market. This new variant is priced at Rs 49 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a more affordable option compared to the standard iX1 xDrive30, which is priced at Rs 66.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

BMW iX1 LWB Exterior Design

The iX1 L is 116 mm longer than the standard iX1, with a wheelbase extended by 108 mm. This added length translates to a roomier second row, enhancing passenger comfort. The design retains the M Sport package seen in the standard iX1, with the primary difference being the SUV’s increased overall length.

The iX1 LWB stands out with its aggressive front and rear bumpers, 18-inch M alloys, and slim adaptive LED headlights. The vehicle’s overall length is 4,616mm, with a wheelbase of 2,800mm, making it 112mm longer than the standard model.

BMW iX1 LWB Interior and Features

The interior of the iX1 L resembles that of the iX1 xDrive30, featuring a prominent freestanding infotainment screen and digital displays. It includes a driver-focused ‘Widescreen Curved Display’ with a 10.25-inch instrument panel and a 10.7-inch touchscreen. Unique asymmetrical air vents add style. Standard amenities include powered front seats, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, and a panoramic sunroof.

In the LWB model, rear passengers benefit from reclining seats with a 40:20:40 split-folding feature and dual-zone climate control. The vehicle is equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), park assist, eight airbags, ISOFIX anchors, and an electronic parking brake, ensuring a safe and comfortable driving experience.

BMW iX1 LWB Powertrain and Performance

The iX1 eDrive20 L is powered by a 66.4 kWh battery, similar to the iX1 xDrive30. However, it sends power to a single electric motor, unlike the xDrive30’s dual motors. The peak power output is 201 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100kph in just 8.6 seconds. BMW claims a range of up to 531 km for the iX1 eDrive20 L.

BMW offers a complimentary 11 kW wall box charger with the iX1 L, which also supports up to 130 kW DC fast charging. This ensures that the vehicle can be charged quickly and efficiently, making it a practical choice for daily use.
