This means buyers need to act fast if they want this exclusive hot hatch. When reservations for the Golf GTI Mk 8.5 opened on May 5, 2025, Volkswagen used a special pre-booking process. Customers had to take an online quiz, and only those who scored at least 4 out of 5 could get a pre-booking link.

Volkswagen Golf GTI: Engine and Performance
The Volkswagen Golf GTI features a 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine under the hood. It produces 265 brake horsepower and 370 Nm of torque.
