Piaggio Ape E-City Ultra and FX Maxx Launched – Prices Start at Rs 3.30 Lakh

Piaggio has introduced the Ape E-City Ultra and FX Maxx electric three-wheelers in India. The starting price for these models is Rs 3.30 lakh.

Italian vehicle maker Piaggio has launched its new electric three-wheeled vehicles in India. The models are called Ape E-City Ultra and Ape E-City FX Maxx. Priced from Rs 3.30 lakh, the 2025 versions aim to meet the rising need for affordable, eco-friendly options for last-mile delivery.

Piaggio Ape E-City Ultra

The vehicle has a 10.2 kWh Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery, which provides a certified range of 236 km. Its maximum speed is 55 km/h, with a peak power of 9.55 kW and 45 Nm of torque. It features a Climb Assist Mode to make driving on steep hills easier.

The dashboard is digital and shows alerts along with battery status. It also includes 4G telematics for live tracking and remote control to immobilize the vehicle when needed. The vehicle can climb slopes of up to 28%. It comes with a five-year warranty or a mileage limit of 2,25,000 km. The price is Rs 3.88 lakh, ex-showroom.

Piaggio Ape E-City FX Maxx

The vehicle is equipped with an 8.0 kWh prismatic cell battery, giving it a certified range of 174 km. Its maximum speed has not been revealed publicly. The electric motor produces a peak power of 7.4 kW and 30 Nm of torque.

It features smart energy monitoring and battery health tracking to keep you informed. The car can climb hills with a slope of up to 19%. It comes with a warranty of five years or up to 2,25,000 km. The ex-showroom price is Rs 3.30 lakh.

Market Strategy and Vision

Diego Graffi, Chairman and MD of Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, emphasized the importance of efficient urban transportation and the company’s commitment to India’s electric mobility goals. These launches are in line with Piaggio’s broader strategy to make commercial EVs more accessible, reliable, and cost-effective.

Amit Sagar, EVP of CV Domestic Business, pointed out the vehicles’ low maintenance costs and improved charging capabilities—attributes that aim to increase ROI for fleet operators and solo drivers alike.

Both models are available nationwide through Piaggio’s extensive dealership network, with financing options and after-sales support designed to promote mass EV adoption across urban and semi-urban regions.
