Yamaha EC-06 maxi electric scooter Unveiled with a 4 kWh battery and 160 km certified range; price and India launch details due Q1 2026.
Yamaha has officially revealed the EC-06 — a maxi-style electric scooter that marks the brand’s formal entry into the Indian electric two-wheeler arena. The Yamaha EC-06 pairs a compact, high-capacity fixed battery with a relatively powerful motor package, positioning it as a practical daily rider with long-range claims.
At the heart of the EC-06 is a 4 kWh fixed battery pack that Yamaha says delivers a certified riding range of 160 km. The battery drives an electric motor rated at 4.5 kW continuous, with a peak output of 6.7 kW, giving the scooter a healthy mix of city performance and efficiency. Yamaha hasn’t revealed the top speed yet. Home charging from a standard socket is possible and a full charge takes roughly nine hours.

Feature-wise, the EC-06 opts for practical simplicity rather than gadget-heavy flair. The instrument cluster is an LCD unit rather than a full-colour TFT, but the scooter includes an integrated telematics module with a SIM for real-time connectivity and data access. Riders can choose between three riding modes and a reverse function that helps manoeuvre the scooter in tight parking spots. Under-seat storage measures a practical 24.5 litres, adding to the EC-06’s everyday usability.
Yamaha has kept pricing and delivery plans under wraps for now, saying that official price announcements and rollout schedules will follow in the first quarter of 2026. Given the EC-06’s stated range and equipment, it is likely to compete with other premium electric scooters aimed at buyers who prioritise range and practicality.
