BMW F 450 GS tipped to launch at India

BMW F 450 GS could arrive at India Bike Week 2025 — a 420cc twin with advanced electronics and bookings already open.

BMW’s new F 450 GS, revealed in production form at EICMA 2025, looks set for an India launch at India Bike Week (IBW) on December 19–20, 2025. Dealerships have quietly started taking unofficial bookings with a token of Rs. 50,000, signalling BMW’s intent to make a strong play in India’s booming ADV and adventure-tourer segment.

The BMW F 450 GS introduces a newly developed 420cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine featuring a distinct 135-degree firing order that BMW says gives the motor a characterful note. The engine is claimed to produce around 48 bhp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm, and it will be offered with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a semi-automatic unit.

BMW plans to offer the F 450 GS in four trims — Basic, Exclusive, Sport and GS Trophy — with the differences mainly in equipment and electronics. The Basic variant comes with three ride modes (Rain, Road and Enduro), while the higher trims add an Enduro Pro mode.

Key features across the range are a 6.5-inch TFT colour display, LED lighting, Bluetooth connectivity and heated grips. Safety and stability come from rider aids such as cornering ABS, traction control and dynamic brake control, with the GS Trophy spec gaining adjustable suspension, an Easy Ride Clutch and optional tubeless spoke wheels.

With the KTM 390 Adventure sitting at about Rs. 3.95 lakh, industry watchers expect BMW to price the F 450 GS aggressively — likely below Rs. 5 lakh — if it wants to win volume in India’s price-sensitive market. A competitive introductory price, perhaps in the region of Rs. 4.5 lakh, would position the F 450 GS as a compelling step up for buyers seeking the refinement of a twin-cylinder motor and the cachet of the BMW badge.
