Maruti Suzuki introduces a swivel front seat kit for the Maruti WagonR, enhancing accessibility for seniors and differently-abled users.
Maruti Suzuki has taken a thoughtful step toward inclusive mobility with the launch of a new swivel front seat kit for its popular Maruti WagonR hatchback, aimed at making car access significantly easier for senior citizens and persons with disabilities. This innovative accessory installs quickly, requires no change to the existing seat, and is now rolling out across select cities in India.

The swivel front seat kit has been developed in collaboration with Bangalore-based startup TRUEAssist Technology Private Limited under Maruti Suzuki’s startup incubation programme. Designed as a dealer-level retrofit accessory for the WagonR, the mechanism allows the front passenger seat to rotate outward, helping passengers enter and exit the vehicle with much less effort. Maruti Suzuki says the kit has successfully passed safety checks conducted by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), meeting all required in-car safety standards.

Priced at Rs 59,999, the swivel seat kit carries an additional installation charge of Rs 5,000, bringing the total to Rs 64,999. The installation process is quick and simple because it uses the WagonR’s existing seat without any structural modifications. According to the company, fitment can be completed in under an hour, offering an efficient upgrade for customers who want enhanced accessibility without extensive custom work.
In addition to the practical benefits, this initiative aligns with Maruti Suzuki’s broader goal of promoting inclusive and human-centric mobility. By bringing features such as the swivel front seat into a mass-market segment like the WagonR, the company underscores its commitment to enhancing everyday mobility for more users across India.
