Tata Safari petrol launches at ₹13.29 lakh with a new 1.5-litre turbo engine, fresh trims and enhanced features for SUV buyers.
Tata Motors has finally unveiled the petrol avatar of its popular Tata Safari SUV in India, priced from ₹13.29 lakh (ex-showroom). This marks a significant move for the flagship seven-seat SUV, which until now was available only with diesel power. The new Tata Safari petrol portfolio spans a wide price spectrum, starting at ₹13.29 lakh for the entry-level Smart trim and extending up to around ₹25.19 lakh for the top-end Accomplished Ultra Red Dark variant in manual form.

Unlike before, the Tata Safari petrol is powered by Tata’s in-house developed 1.5-litre TGDi Hyperion turbo-petrol engine that made its debut on the Tata Sierra. Tuned specifically for this SUV, the engine produces around 170 hp and 280 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

On the design and packaging front, the Tata Safari petrol retains the robust and confident SUV stance that has become its signature. While Tata hasn’t made drastic changes to the exterior, the petrol variants carry over the Safari’s striking road presence and commanding driving position, making them equally appealing to family and lifestyle SUV buyers.
The Accomplished Ultra top-trim, exclusive to the petrol range, packs premium features that elevate the ownership experience. Highlights include Tata’s 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with onboard navigation, Dolby Atmos sound, a digital interior rear-view mirror (IRVM) with integrated dash cam, a dual-tone interior theme, and memory function for the outside rear-view mirrors. Reverse camera washers and a 65 W USB-C fast charging port add functional convenience that buyers will appreciate.
