The latest safety data reveals that the facelifted Tata Punch achieved 30.58 out of 32 points for Adult Occupant Protection and 45 out of 49 points for Child Occupant Protection in Bharat NCAP’s stringent crash evaluation. These figures reflect robust crash performance in multiple impact scenarios, including frontal and side collisions.

In the adult protection tests, the Punch demonstrated strong structural integrity. The frontal offset deformable barrier crash saw the driver’s head, neck, and pelvis receive “good” protection, while key lower body areas also performed well. Side impact evaluations similarly delivered solid protective results, with most body regions earning positive ratings.

The child occupant protection results were equally commendable. The Punch scored maximum points in dynamic crash tests, achieving full marks for all frontal and side impacts involving child dummies. A perfect score for correct child restraint system (CRS) installation further boosted the overall performance. A minor reduction in the vehicle assessment score kept the total just shy of the maximum possible, but still within elite safety standards.

Bharat NCAP’s detailed ratings confirm that the Punch facelift’s safety suite is comprehensive. The tested variants — including Pure+ CNG AMT and Accomplished CNG MT — come equipped with six standard airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill start and descent assist, blind-spot monitoring, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and a 360-degree camera, enhancing both active and passive safety.
