VinFast VF7 Secures 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating

VinFast VF7 electric SUV earns a top 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating across all variants, highlighting strong crash protection and advanced safety features.

VinFast’s electric SUV, the VF7, has taken a significant leap in safety credibility by earning a 5-star safety rating from the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP) in India. This achievement marks a major milestone for the Vietnamese EV maker as it cements its commitment to occupant protection in one of the world’s most competitive automotive markets.

Bharat NCAP’s crash test results, conducted on the VinFast VF7 in late 2025 and announced in early 2026, place the SUV among the top performers in its segment when it comes to protecting both adult and child occupants. The safety rating applies uniformly across all five variants of the VF7 – Earth, Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky and Sky Infinity – underlining the consistent build quality across the lineup.

In the adult occupant protection (AOP) category, the VF7 scored 28.54 out of 32 points, demonstrating robust resistance to frontal and side impact forces during crash testing. While the frontal offset collision results showed some chest area vulnerability, the SUV scored full marks in critical side impact assessments, reflecting a solid safety cage and structural integrity.

Equally impressive was the VF7’s performance in the child occupant protection (COP) tests, securing 45.25 out of 49 points. Strong scores in dynamic performance and child restraint system compatibility helped elevate the overall COP score, even surpassing some segment rivals in this category.

These features contribute significantly to both passive and active safety measures.

In addition to safety accolades, the VF7 offers compelling practicality and tech features that appeal to modern buyers. With a range estimated between 438 km and 532 km, advanced Level-2 ADAS driver-assist systems, and premium interior comforts, the VF7 is positioned as a compelling all-around electric SUV choice in its price bracket.
