The bike rides on wire-spoke wheels with a 21-inch wheel at the front and an 18-inch unit at the rear, making it far better suited for rough terrain and trail riding. One of the biggest highlights of the 390 Adventure R is its upgraded suspension setup. KTM has equipped the bike with long-travel adjustable suspension at both ends, offering significantly more travel than the standard version.

Powering the KTM 390 Adventure R is the familiar 373cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It delivers strong performance across the rev range and is known for its punchy character and reliability. The motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox and benefits from a slipper clutch, ensuring smoother downshifts during spirited riding. The engine setup remains unchanged mechanically but is tuned to complement the bike’s adventure-focused nature.

In terms of electronics, the 390 Adventure R comes loaded with modern rider aids. Features such as switchable ABS, off-road traction control modes and ride-by-wire technology ensure the bike remains manageable both on and off the road. The TFT display provides clear riding information and allows riders to adjust settings easily depending on terrain and riding style.

Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, offering strong stopping power and confidence even in challenging conditions. The higher ground clearance and revised ergonomics further enhance the bike’s off-road credentials, giving riders better control while standing on the pegs during trail riding.
