Mahindra Thar OG debuts at ₹10.32 lakh with new engines, advanced safety features, a refreshed design, and improved comfort.
Mahindra has introduced the Thar OG, a refreshed version of its iconic 3-door SUV, with prices starting at ₹10.32 lakh and going up to ₹18.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries are set to begin on October 11, with introductory pricing valid until November 30, 2026.

This update marks the second major revision in just over a year, bringing a host of enhancements. The Thar OG now rides on Mahindra’s M_Glyde 4G platform, offering improved structural stiffness and a new rear Pentalink suspension with Watts Link for better stability. The addition of DAVINCI damping technology and Frequency Dependent Damping (FDD) in top trims promises a more comfortable ride.
Under the hood, the SUV gets more powerful engines. The 2.2-litre diesel now produces 152hp and 330Nm, while the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol delivers 162hp and 330Nm. The entry-level 1.5-litre diesel remains unchanged at 119hp. Buyers can choose between manual and automatic transmissions, with both RWD and 4WD options available.
Design updates include a new grille with ‘Thar’ branding, revised bumpers, fresh LED lighting signatures, and larger 19-inch alloys on the top-spec ZXT trim. New colour options like Artemis Silver and Jeans Blue further enhance its appeal.
Inside, the Thar OG gets Truffle Brown leatherette upholstery, second-row armrests with cupholders, and reduced NVH levels. Higher trims add a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, wireless charging, and a rearview camera.
Safety has also taken a leap forward. The ZXT trim offers six airbags with Mahindra’s segment-first HPTS system, all-round disc brakes, ESP with rollover mitigation, and front parking sensors.
