2026 Jeep Compass Debuts with Hybrid, Electric Options; EV Gets AWD Exclusively,
Jeep has officially revealed the next-generation Compass, marking a significant evolution with electrified and all-electric powertrain options. Built on the STLA Medium architecture, the new Compass retains Jeep’s iconic off-road capabilities while embracing modern technology and efficiency.
2026 Jeep Compass: Exterior Design and Interiors
The 2026 Jeep Compass features a boxier design compared to its predecessor, with a squared-out stance and upright proportions. The closed-off seven-slot grille integrates futuristic lighting elements, while the taillights include an illuminated Jeep logo. The Overland badge replaces the previous Trailhawk variant, indicating premium all-terrain capability.

Jeep has designed the new Compass for adventure, offering improved approach, departure, and breakover angles that enhance its off-road performance. The SUV boasts 200 mm ground clearance and can wade through up to 470 mm of water, making it a true contender for rugged trails.
Inside, Jeep has packed the new Compass with cutting-edge technology, including a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a 16-inch central touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charging, heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, Matrix LED headlights, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including semi-active lane change assist. Additionally, the new Compass is 4.55 metres long, offering improved cabin space with 55 mm more legroom and a 550-litre boot capacity.

2026 Jeep Compass: Engine and Performance
The new Jeep Compass is available in mild hybrid, strong hybrid, and fully electric versions, catering to diverse driving preferences. The internal combustion models include a 48V mild-hybrid producing 143 bhp, while the strong hybrid offers a combined 192 bhp.
For electric vehicle enthusiasts, Jeep offers three battery-powered variants, with front-wheel drive models producing 210 bhp and 228 bhp, and an all-wheel drive “4xe” model generating 370 bhp with a 49 kW electric motor on the rear axle for superior traction. The range-topping electric Compass supports 160 kW DC fast charging and offers an impressive 650 km driving range, making it ideal for long journeys.

Jeep has confirmed that the new Compass will enter international markets by Q4 2025. However, its arrival in India remains uncertain due to the declining sales of the current model. While Indian SUV buyers continue to seek premium off-roaders, Jeep will likely assess market demand before making a decision.
