Kia India has launched its latest electric vehicle in India, a three-row Kia EV9 Electric SUV. This MPV is now the leading model for the company and comes with a price of Rs 1.29 crore (ex-showroom). The EV9 is offered only in the GT Line version and is brought to India as a fully assembled unit (CBU).
Kia EV9 Electric SUV: Exterior Design
The Kia EV9 features a modern design with a two-box shape. It has vertically stacked LED headlamps that include Star Map LED DRLs and Kia’s distinctive Tiger Nose grille with one air vent. The vehicle is equipped with vertical LED tail lamps, a neat tailgate with Kia lettering, a spoiler, and a dual-tone bumper featuring a skid plate. Additionally, it sports heavy black cladding, sturdy rear and front bumpers, and flush-fitting door handles.

The wheels are available in different sizes, starting from 20 to 22 inches, and they feature aerodynamic alloys with stylish wheel inserts. When it comes to size, the EV9 measures 5,015mm in length, 1,980mm in width, and 1,780mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 3,100mm and a ground clearance of 198mm. Kia gives you five cool colors to choose from for the EV9: Snow White Pearl, Ocean Blue, Pebble Gray, Panthera Metal, and Aurora Black Pearl.

Additional features of the vehicle comprise a 12.3-inch entertainment screen and a 12.3-inch display for the driver, integrated navigation, and wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also includes dual electric sunroofs, a 5.0-inch climate control panel, three-zone climate control, a head-up display, a wireless charger with cooling capabilities, Kia Connect, and over-the-air updates. Moreover, it comes with a digital key, a digital inside rearview mirror, an electrically adjustable telescopic steering wheel, a 14-speaker Meridian sound system, and 64-color ambient lighting.
The driver and the co-driver each have seats that can be adjusted in 18 different ways (with a memory feature) and 12 different ways, respectively. In the second row, passengers will enjoy features like ventilation, power adjustments in 8 ways, a massaging function, under-thigh support, a winged headrest, and a one-touch fold. Additionally, the third row has a 50:50 split fold and recline function for your comfort. The Kia EV9 gives you a choice between two interior themes: white-black and beige-black.
When it comes to safety, It’s packed with 10 airbags, ESC, ABS, hill descent control, vehicle stability management, front, side, and rear parking sensors, all-wheel disc brakes, and a 360-degree camera. Plus, it comes with Level 2 ADAS, including cool features like Forward Collision Warning, Avoidance Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, High Beam Assist, Lane Keep Assist, and more.

Kia EV9 Electric SUV: Powertrain, Battery, Range
The EV9 available in India is equipped with a large 99.8 kWh battery that powers two electric motors positioned on each axle, providing an AWD system. These motors together produce a combined output of 383 bhp and an impressive 700 Nm of torque. This full-sized SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. In terms of range, it boasts an ARAI-certified range of 561 km, which closely matches the WLTP estimates. With a 350kW DC fast charger, you can charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 24 minutes.
