Porsche has added an electric version of its flagship Cayenne to its India line-up, marking a major moment in automotive news and EV momentum in the country. Order books are open now, with the Porsche Cayenne Electric starting at ₹1.75 crore for the standard model and rising to ₹2.25 crore for the Turbo variant.

Under the skin, the Cayenne Electric comes in two dual-motor all-wheel-drive tunes. The top Turbo guise delivers an astonishing 1,156 bhp and 1,500 Nm, capable of a 0–100 km/h sprint in about 2.5 seconds in boost mode. The more restrained version still puts out 440 bhp and 835 Nm with a 0–100 km/h time of 4.8 seconds.

Porsche equips the Cayenne EV with a 113 kWh battery that claims a 642 km range and supports up to 400 kW fast charging for rapid top-ups. The Cayenne also becomes Porsche’s first model in India to offer wireless inductive charging — a convenient 11 kW system that starts charging when the car is parked above a floor plate. Recuperation tech is strong too, offering up to 600 kW of recuperative power so most braking can be handled by the motors alone.

Dimensionally the electric Cayenne is a touch larger than the petrol model, stretching to 4,985 mm in length with a 3,023 mm wheelbase, which Porsche says will translate to increased cabin space. The interior follows the brand’s recent design language with a curved central display, a 14.25-inch OLED screen for the driver and an optional 14.9-inch passenger display, bringing a modern, tech-heavy cabin to buyers.
