MG Hector facelift debuts in India from ₹11.99 lakh with bold styling, gesture controls, updated interior and Level 2 ADAS.

MG Motor India has officially introduced the MG Hector facelift in the domestic market, marking a significant mid-cycle update for its popular SUV. The new Hector has been priced from ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) as an introductory offer, which is notably lower than the price of the outgoing model, making it an attractive proposition in the fiercely competitive SUV segment.

The refreshed Hector stands out with subtle yet impactful design updates. Up front, it features a redesigned grille with hexagonal slats and a set of new 18-inch alloy wheels that add a sharper, more modern stance to the SUV’s bold profile. Dual-tone body accents, black wheel arch claddings, distinctive side character lines and fresh colour options like Celadon Blue and Pearl White elevate its road presence. While the overall silhouette remains familiar, these cosmetic updates give the Hector a more contemporary look.

Inside the cabin, MG has brought in several meaningful upgrades. The interior now sports a dual-tone Urban Tan theme, adding warmth and sophistication to the seats and trims. A major highlight is the introduction of i-Swipe touch-based gesture controls integrated with the expansive 14-inch infotainment screen. These gesture inputs allow users to manage HVAC functions with two-finger swipes and audio controls with three fingers, reducing reliance on physical buttons and creating a more futuristic user experience.

MG has ensured the Hector continues to offer flexibility in seating arrangements. Buyers can choose from five-, six-, or seven-seat layouts depending on their lifestyle needs. The SUV also includes modern connectivity features such as a digital auto key with proximity locking/unlocking and an Infinity by Harman audio system. The infotainment also integrates expandable VRAM memory up to 10GB, which enhances system responsiveness and usability.

Under the hood, the MG Hector Facelift retains the familiar 1.5-litre turbo petrol powertrain producing around 141bhp and 250Nm of torque, available with both manual and CVT gearbox options. While diesel powertrain details are yet to be disclosed, MG is expected to reveal these soon.

On the safety front, the new Hector doesn’t lag behind rivals. It comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) that include automated functions designed to improve driver confidence and reduce fatigue. Standard safety provisions such as six airbags and a 360-degree camera further enhance occupant protection and parking convenience.
