Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Unveiled with fresh styling, new features, and an 8-speed automatic gearbox for the 1.0 TSI engine.
Volkswagen India has officially unveiled the much-anticipated Taigun facelift, bringing a comprehensive mid-cycle refresh to its popular midsize SUV. The update introduces sharper styling, smarter technology, and a new gearbox option, making the Taigun more competitive in India’s crowded SUV market.

On the outside, the Volkswagen Taigun facelift borrows cues from Volkswagen’s global design language. The front fascia now features an illuminated VW badge, sleek LED headlamps connected by a light bar, and a redesigned bumper with horizontal slats. GT variants stand out with blacked-out elements, sporty alloy wheels, and bold GT badging. At the rear, sequential LED indicators and an illuminated logo add a premium touch.

Step inside, and the cabin feels more advanced than ever. A panoramic sunroof, larger 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, and an updated 10.1-inch infotainment system with AI-based integration elevate the driving experience. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, and wireless charging further enhance comfort and convenience. Safety remains a strong suit, with six airbags, ESC, traction control, ISOFIX mounts, and a 5-star crash safety rating carried over from the outgoing model.
Under the hood, the Volkswagen Taigun Facelift continues with its trusted turbo-petrol engines. The 1.0-litre TSI now gets a new 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox, replacing the older 6-speed unit, while the 1.5-litre TSI retains its powerful DSG setup. Volkswagen has also added rear disc brakes to the 1.5 TSI variants, addressing customer feedback. Impressively, fuel efficiency for the 1.0 TSI has been improved by nearly 6 percent.
