Yamaha Aerox Electric Scooter Launched in India at ₹2.82 lakh with 117 km range, dual battery packs, and advanced features.

Yamaha Motor India has officially launched the much-anticipated Yamaha Aerox Electric, marking a bold step in the brand’s EV journey. Priced at ₹2.82 lakh (ex-showroom), the Aerox Electric is nearly twice as expensive as its petrol-powered sibling, positioning itself as Yamaha’s most premium two-wheeler currently available in India.

At its core, the Aerox Electric is powered by a 9.4 kW (12.6 bhp) motor delivering a peak torque of 48 Nm. The scooter draws energy from two removable 1.5 kWh battery packs (3 kWh combined), offering the convenience of home charging. Yamaha claims an impressive IDC range of 117 km on a full charge, with a top speed of 95.5 km/h in Power mode when the Boost function is engaged.

Charging times are practical: a single battery takes 3 hours 10 minutes, while both together require 6 hours 20 minutes for a full charge. Riders can switch between Eco, Standard, and Power modes, with Boost unlocking maximum performance for short bursts. A reverse mode adds further convenience.

The Aerox Electric include Full-LED lighting for modern appeal, a Colour TFT instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation, Smart key with Answer Back function to locate the scooter in crowded parking lots. Due to battery integration, underseat storage has been slightly reduced, and the scooter now tips the scales at 139 kg kerb weight. Safety is ensured with disc brakes at both ends and single-channel ABS
