Mercedes-Benz India has officially launched the India-made Mercedes-Maybach GLS luxury SUV with a notably reduced price tag of Rs 2.75 crore (ex-showroom). This strategic move brings down the price by around Rs 42 lakh compared with the earlier fully imported version that was priced at Rs 3.17 crore, making this premium SUV more attainable for luxury car buyers in the country.

What makes this launch particularly significant is that India has become the first market outside the United States to locally assemble the Maybach GLS. By shifting production to India, Mercedes-Benz aims not only to cut costs but also to shorten delivery times and better meet customer demand in the luxury segment.
Under the bonnet, the Maybach GLS continues with its powerful 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine. This potent drivetrain churns out strong performance figures, combining luxury and power seamlessly. Paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system, the SUV is capable of rapid acceleration and effortless long-distance cruising.
