Tata Nexon EV Secures 5-Star BNCAP Safety Rating Across Entire Line-Up

The Tata Nexon EV has once again raised the benchmark for safety in electric vehicles in India. The 45kWh variant has recently achieved a prestigious 5-star safety rating in crash tests conducted by Bharat NCAP (New Car Safety Assessment Program). Record-Breaking Safety Scores

The Nexon EV 45kWh scored impressively in both Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP) categories. It earned 29.86 points out of 32 for AOP, showcasing excellent protection for drivers and passengers in frontal and side impact tests. Similarly, the COP score stood at 44.95 out of 49, highlighting the safety measures incorporated for younger passengers.

Advanced Safety Features

The Nexon EV’s Empowered+ LR variant was the center of BNCAP’s testing, equipped with state-of-the-art safety technologies. These include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ISOFIX child seat anchors, 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, a 360-degree camera, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Such features underscore Tata Motors’ emphasis on providing a safe driving experience for both adults and children alike.

For child occupants, dynamic protection scores were nearly perfect, with high marks given to restraint systems for both 18-month and 3-year-old dummies.
