Toyota Vellfire Hits 5,000 Sales Milestone in India

Toyota Vellfire crosses 5,000 sales in India, driven by rising demand for luxury hybrid MPVs and chauffeur-driven comfort.

Toyota’s flagship luxury MPV, the Vellfire, has achieved a remarkable milestone in India by crossing 5,000 cumulative sales since its debut in February 2020. This achievement underscores the growing appetite for premium chauffeur-driven vehicles in the country, especially in the hybrid luxury segment.

According to SIAM data, Toyota Kirloskar Motor dispatched 5,001 units by April 2026, with more than half of these sales—2,756 units—coming in just the last 25 months. The introduction of the second-generation Vellfire in August 2023 has been pivotal, sparking renewed demand and helping the model record its best-ever annual performance in FY2026 with 1,483 units sold, a 56% jump over the previous fiscal.

The Vellfire’s appeal lies in its blend of luxury, technology, and efficiency. Powered by a 2.5-litre strong hybrid petrol engine delivering 193hp and paired with an e-CVT gearbox, it offers an impressive fuel efficiency of 19.28kpl. Built on the same platform as the Lexus LM, the MPV stretches 5,005mm in length with a 3,000mm wheelbase, ensuring ample cabin space.

Inside, the Vellfire pampers passengers with Ottoman-style second-row seats, a 14-inch infotainment system, head-up display, wireless charging, and roof-mounted controls. The top-spec VIP variant further elevates comfort with Executive Lounge captain seats, making it a preferred choice for business leaders and celebrities alike.

Safety is equally prioritized, with six airbags, ESC, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts, and ADAS features supported by radar and camera systems. Priced between ₹1.20 crore and ₹1.30 crore (ex-showroom).
